The First Children Embassy in the World – “Medjashi” reacts

Children are politically abused and the children labor is abused as well

The First Children Embassy in the World – "“Medjashi”" expressed their sharp criticism to including children in this year’s marking of the Macedonian Army Day. The Embassy condemned this, as they call it, children abuse for political purposes, for agitating and for political campaign for Macedonian access into NATO. They directed their criticism publicly to the Minister of Defence, Lazar Elenovski and to the Children Embassy for All Children from Prilep.

“To come out with the motto “Macedonia in NATO with the children as its treasure” says enough both for the patron of the event, the Minister of Defence and its organizer, The Children Embassy for All Children from Prilep. Shame on the Ministry that spends money for supporting a CSO that abuses children for political purposes”, they state at “Medjashi”, who had also submitted a petition to the Ombudsman, Ixet Memeti asking for the Minister Elenovski to resign and for the The Children Embassy for All Children in the World to be removed from the register of civil society organizations.

In the month of August, Medjashi reacted to the case of children labor abuse which resulted in the death of the 13-year-old Avni Ademi from Gostivar, who died while he was working in a car-wash service.

“It is a drastic example of breaking the regulations from the Children Rights Convention, a convention against the worst forms of children labor (182) and the National laws”, they said at Medjashi and called for the Public Prosecutor to take the necessary measures according to the national laws and international regulations, that is, to indict F.Lj., the owner of the car-wash service, at the same time informing the labor inspector on the children labor abuse since they do not deal enough with the bosses who abuse children as work force thus violating the Labor Relations Act of the Republic of Macedonia.
