1 September: Peace Day

The first September day is dedicated to the world peace. Under the UN patronage, a number of pacific manifestations take place throughout the world with participants from the civil society organizations, as well as all those who oppose the wars and arms.

6 September: Missing persons day

The missing persons, either in wars or natural disasters, are a huge world problem. On this day, a number of activities for finding those persons or eliminating the problem are carried out.

16 September: Protection of the ozone layer

This day is dedicated to the Earth’s natural shield against the harmful radiations that come from the space – the ozone layer, which we destroy more and more. The environmental associations call for reducing the pollution, and each of us should boycott the products that damage the layer.

18 September: Geologists’ day

The experts in the field of geology celebrate their day as an occasion to emphasize the importance of this basic scientific branch for the development of any country, especially those countries that are rich in mine and other resources, like Macedonia.

22 September: A day without cars

On the initiative of the European Commission, on this day we should leave our cars parked at home. You can go walking at work, at school or anywhere, which will be your own personal contribution against the air-pollution caused by the traffic.

26 September: Clean mountains day

An old environmental rule says: On a mountain, leave your footsteps only, and take its peace and quiet. We would add, take also some photos of the beautiful scenery, but leave the plants, the animals, the stones and the other natural resources in their environment. And, of course, take your waste with you.

21 September: Tourism day

The world day of tourism is celebrated when the main tourist season has gone. Anyway, the goal of this manifestation is to call for a sustainable tourism – such that will not harm the nature or the authentic culture of the tourist locations.
