A guide called “School is a safe and secure place”
The City of Skopje in partnership with the civil society organizations “Razbudi se” and “Zenska akcija” and together with the municipalities of Cair and Gazi Baba, The Council of Europe – Skopje Office and “Plimont” from Skopje, promoted the guide called “School is a safe and secure place”, prepared with UNDP support. The guide contains the messages “I say NO to weapons in the school yard”, “The security and safety of my school depends on me, my friends and my friends’ friends”, which are to be known by all high-school students if they want to maintain the safety in their schools. Some of the project activities are the anonymous questionnaires filled in by the students from Gazi Baba and Cair, workshops on performing mini-plays and jokes on stage, a Code for protecting the human rights and freedoms and so on, as well as a media campaign.
The guide defines the reasons for the deviant behavior among the high-school students, the ways of raising their awareness for active involvement in taking the weapons and the violence away from the schools.
