Promotion of the European Values in Macedonia
The European House Skopje is a non-governmental organization, established in 1999 and open for the public and every citizen who contributes to the promotion of the European values in Macedonia and for promotion of the Macedonian values abroad. It sees Macedonia, as an equal member of the European Union and therefore, its mission is to promote the European values, promotion and development of the civil society, the democratic processes, promotion of sustainable development of the local communities and a new culture of changes and dealing with conflicts.
The European House is active in the field of articulating and development of the civil society values, development of sustainable NGOs and local communities, development of an open forum of citizens and organizations on local, regional and national level for having a dialogue, exchange of information, promotion of the mutual understanding, solidarity, cooperation, communication, etc. Its activities are realized through a youth club, a volunteers' club, a forum for sustainable development, for culture and art, eco-forum, forum for political matters, for regional cooperation and economic matters, forum for ethnic questions.
The strategic goal of the European House in the period between 2004-2006 is the Euro-integration process of Macedonia. The idea of the European House is to gain experiences from the new full-right members of EU through a series of workshops that will take place in the pre-admission period. Each of the workshops that are starting in November 2004 will address various aspects of the pre-admission period, such as: production, economic structure, "know-how" works, educational structure, regional cooperation and development, market economy.
Starting from September 2004, the European House will initiate the realization of the international project "Europe at School", and this years it also starts with the project "Citizens for a better local government" that should contribute to the decentralisation process in Macedonia.
