Grants awarded to 12 civil society organizations

On 14 February, at the Skopje Fair, the ceremony of awarding grants to 12 civil society organizations working in various fields took place. The awarding ceremony was part of the three-year project for strengthening the civil society, which is financed by the United States Agency for International Development – USAID, and implemented by a consortium led by the Institute for Sustainable Communities – ISC. Other project members are: The Institutional Development Centre – IDC, The European Centre for Non-for-profit Law (ECNPL) and The Macedonian Institute for Media (MIM). The projects goal is to make the civil sector in Macedonia more efficient, more influential and as such, a permanent partner to the Government and the business-sector in the process of forming the present and the future of this country. By establishing partnerships between the civil society organizations, the project should help the Macedonian citizens express their priorities, approach them in a constructive manner and seek responsibility from the Government for the decisions it makes.
