Ethno Culture in the Bitola Bazaar

From 13 to 27 August this year, the exhibition called "Ethno Culture in the Bitola Bazaar" took place at the Art Gallery "Yeni Mosque" in Bitola.

Original photographs and artifacts were exhibited, showing the economic and the multiethnic life in this town at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, when the Bazaar was a centre of mutual living of different nations and cultures: Macedonians, Turks, Jews, Vlachs, Arbanas, Roma people and others, which had been operating in the location through the "Jew", Vlach" and Stambol" Bazaar.

The exhibition is part of the project "Bitola, babam, Bitola II", implemented by the Cultural and Humanitarian Association of Turks "Celebija" from Bitola in association with the Institute, museum and gallery - Bitola.

This project is part of the Programme for improving the interethnic relations, supported by the OSIMF, the King Boduen Foundation, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and Allavida Foundation.
