Projects of the civil society organizations in Macedonia

On 23 September in Skopje, the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation (MCIC) promoted the second edition of the publication "Projects of the civil society organizations in Macedonia". It contains information on some of the projects that were implemented by the CSO in the course of 2002 and 2003. It includes 658 CSO projects (whose budget exceeds 150.000 MKD) of the existing 5,312 from the Address Book published by MCIC. The data on the publication had been collected by interviewers who were active in the whole territory of the Republic of Macedonia.

The publication answers questions, such as: what do the civil society organizations do, who are their activities aimed at, how much do the described activities cost, what is the number of people engaged for the realization of the activities, or what is the number of those who directly benefited from the implemented projects.

The analysis of the activities presented in the publication show that 67% of the projects are for informing and lobbying, 17% for training, and 15 % fall for the other activities. Most of the projects have been implemented for three groups of beneficiaries: people with special needs, children and young people and women.
