Say Macedonia Campaign Continues Public Sending of Greeting Cards

March 23, 2004 – The organizers of the "Say Macedonia" campaign--the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), the Euro Balkan Institute, the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia (FOSIM), and OXO—held a press conference today in the NGO InfoCenter, presenting their activities against the publishing of the Council of Europe Note about the use of the reference "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" and terms using the citizens, the members of the Macedonian minority abroad, the Macedonian culture, the Macedonian language, the Macedonian tradition ect.
The organizers noted that they've received great public support, from the media and the business sector.
The campaign continues tomorrow from 11 to 14 hrs (10 AM – 2 PM) at the entrance of the GTC mall (Gradski Trgovski Centar), looking towards the Macedonia square in the center of Skopje. The organizers announced public sending of the postcards made by MCIC and signing of the protest letter made by the Euro Balkan Institute.

The organizers announced sending the protest letter to Mr. Jan Kleijssen, the Director of the Secretary General's Private Office, to the Council of Europe, to the foreign missions in the Republic of Macedonia, to the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, to the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, to the local and the international media, to the Organization of the United Nations and all other interested entities.
