UMWO, tradition, St. Basil's Day (Vasilica)

Humanitarian cocktail 

On 14 January this year, the Union of Macedonian Women Organization (UMWO) held the traditional St Basil's Day Humanitarian Cocktail. This year, it was part of the campaign "Friends to the Hospital for Children Diseases". The patron of the cocktail that gathered many guests - representatives of civic organizations from Macedonia, foreign diplomats in the country, representatives of the state, artists from the show business, as well as ordinary visitors, was Mrs. Liljana Popovska, vice-president of the Macedonian Parliament.

The guests had the honour to hear musical pieces, performed by the opera singer Milka Eftimova and her class, joined by the pianist Jasminka Cakar, and the honour to present the St. Basil's customs was given to the Women Organization "Horizont" from Krivogastani.

The money raised from the tickets, 85, 500 denars will be donated for the reconstruction of the Children Hospital.
