Children without parents write letters to companies asking for employment

The Association of children without parents from the Macedonian orphanages, “Idnina”, started their own action for employing their members. They are helped by the Employment Agency that will communicate with them and with the companies, and in order to animate the larger, well-off companies, they sent them letters. They asked for the companies to provide job for every child, but they say at “Idnina” that they will be pleased if 30 of the children manage to get jobs, which of course involves possessing a driving license. To get the driving licenses, it takes money, which they plan to provide from the action they organize by activating a phone number for donations in cooperation with T-Mobile.

“We sent letters to all primary and high schools to motivate the teachers and the parents to donate. We sent such letters to the churches and police stations throughout the country. We plan to use the money for driving licenses. We are planning to send CVs of thirty of our members to several companies hoping to get positive response. In the last four years with similar actions, we managed to employ about thirty people at companies like “Vero”, “Tac”, Parkovi I zelenilo”, “Orka”, etc., says Ilija Jovanovikj, president of “Idnina”.

The association is also planning to send letters to the foreign embassies in the country hoping that their contribution will be sufficient to provide the rest of the money they need for providing 60 driving licenses.

The T-Mobile phone line which is open for donations is 070/143-123. By dialing the number, the citizens can donate 100 denars. The line will remain open until 25 December 2007.
