More precisely, in 2003, at least 766 journalists were arrested, at least 1 460 were physically attacked, and at least 501 media were censured.

Just for comparison, in 2002, 25 reporters were killed, 692 were arrested, 1 420 were physically attacked and 389 media were censured.

In the first month of 2004, the Association registered 124 reporters arrested.
