Youth Tolerance Campaign has ended

Together for the young people
 

The two-year project “Youth campaign for tolerance – Together for the young people”, financed by the EU CARDS program, managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction and implemented by the British Council, Civil Foundation and Intercultural Center, has ended. Project user was the governmental Agency for Young and Sports.

The project had an objective to bring closer young people from different ethnical and social spheres and to develop mutual understanding through various activities. From November 2004 to August 2006 it involved 15.000 young people who directly took part in the project activities. Target group were young people at the age between 15 to 24 and the society in general and the activities were realized through implementation of public informative campaigns, everything in order to increase the awareness of tolerance and to decrease ethnic distrust, common topics of young people and the whole society’s interest were initiated and the implementation of National Youth Strategy was supported. The organization of the National Youth Parliament Day had an objective to help raising the voice of young people for youth policy.

Priority was given to training courses aimed at journalists who reported on topics that were of young people’s interest, as well as realizing the present nature of youth organizations and their potential as non-governmental organizations in order to develop a national youth coalition platform as defined in the European Youth Forum Status.

The implementing strategy of the project “Youth campaign for tolerance – Together for the young people” covered close cooperation with youth networks, youth oriented non-governmental organizations and other networks focused on young people, media representatives, as well as the Ministry of Education.
