Approaching the Desire for Civilization

Under the motto “Approaching the desire for civilization”, from 26 May to 9 June this year, a caravan of former Yugoslav republics and Albanian women active in the social living is going to be organized and coordinated by the French organization “Transeuropeennes”.
The objective of this caravan that will go to places marked by the conflict that was going on in this places in the last decade, is to cross the borders in a symbolic way and to spread the desire for a civilized state, for peace and reconciliation, cooperation and better mutual living in the future. The Macedonian collaborator of “Transeuropeennes” is the Open Society Institute Macedonia Foundation. The caravan will be joined by a photography exhibition of women from this region, some of them participants in the caravan itself.

This activity is part of the “Transeuropeennes” larger program, which also includes preparation of a documentary and a film about the caravan, local and regional training programs and is the continuation of the two meetings in Roajmon, France and Mavrovo, Macedonia, which resulted in two declarations.
