KOMAJA
Love-Erotic Therapy Against the Drugs Addiction
For over a year, the association “Komaja” is conducting the project “Love-Erotic Therapy” aimed at young people abusing narcotic substances. As people in Komaja say, this therapy helped 22 young people attending the courses, free from the drug addiction. It took them from 6-12 month average.
-In 1999 we noticed that certain techniques we have been implementing within the therapy for integral human development, had a positive impact on drug abusers, too. We have done a small research, we have located and selected the techniques and decided to give it a try. We created a special program, which we are glad, helped 22 young people-says Miss Jana Nikuljska, the president of Komaja and the program coordinator.
The program does not relieve the drug abuse habit, but it also relieves the addicts from depression, it improves the quality of life in general, especially the love-erotic life, it develops the working abilities and creativity and it encourages all positive personal potentials.
This project is financed by the US Institute for Sustainable Communities and by the Republic of Macedonia Agency for Young and Sports. The program was presented at the 15th World Congress for Sexology, in Paris, in the month of June, 2001 and it was accepted by the International Scientific Committee of the World Association for Sexology – WAS, which closely cooperates with the UN World Health Organization - WHO.
The main principle of this therapy, says Miss Nikuljska is to free the person from the reasons for his/her state (depression, addiction, or other psychological condition).
- It is easiest to solve the physical addiction – the problem lies in the psyche and in the person’s ability to re-socialize. We help the participants at our courses develop their ability to love and live in a state of love, we offer them a complex psychotherapy, development of the valor of living within the community, sexual demystification and defeat the addiction. Our members and course participants emphasize the importance of the fact that they are not labeled, that they and everyone around them ignore the addiction, thus fighting against it –says Miss Nikuljska.
