Red Cross and Red Crescent Week in Macedonia

Universal help through volunteering

 

The Macedonian Red Cross in cooperation with the Skopje Red Cross and all municipality organizations from the capital organized a number of activities in the week of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent (8-15 May), under the motto “Universal Help through Volunteering.

In cooperation with “Makedonski Posti”, a stamp was printed, which, during the week, traveled with all postal packages, and for the first time, the House of the Red Cross was opened at the Skopje Fair, which is a novelty at all Fair manifestations. Blood-donating actions, exhibitions of photographs, workshops, visits to old people’s homes and to schools for children with special needs and many other activities were organize.

The House of the Red Cross was the latest project of the Skopje Red Cross. During the Fair, it will be the place where blood-donating actions will take place, promotional materials will be given out, etc, and al the interested visitors will be informed about the latest projects and plans of the Red Cross and the latest concept that this organization wants to use to get closer to the citizens. The House of the Red Cross was opened by the Red Cross President, Sait Saiti and it will remain open for 150 days.

On the latest day of the Red Cross Week, an exhibition of photographs called “Promotion of human values” was open at the DHO “Dare Dzambaz” as part of the programme activities. A number of Red Cross activists – young people and high school students are working on the programme. The municipality organizations joined the activities at the Red Cross Week with their own programmes.
