Promotion Eco-calendars 2007 and eco-manual for the teachers   Under the motto “I have the right to live healthily”, the civil society association OHO promoted their eco-calendars and the eco-manuals for the pupils and the teachers in the pre-school groups and grades 1-4 at primary schools. They include 12 illustrations on the subject of environment (one for each month of the year); there is also an eco-message that corresponds with the illustration. The teachers’ manual offers a detailed explanation of every message and advice on how we can contribute to the protection of our environment, our health and ourselves. The eco-calendars and the eco-manuals were promoted by the programme-director Aleksandra Mladenovska, who, among other things, emphasized the information fro the 2006 evaluation that OHO made in cooperation with the Educational Development Bureau, according to which 78% of 1,200 primary school pupils assume active position towards the environmental issues. It is a very high percentage that should please us, although however, it should also be an incentive for reaching even higher environmental awareness among the younger generations. One of the present at the promotion was Agapi Cunkovska, a teacher at “Nikola Karev” Primary School from Krusevo. She explained the function of the eco-calendars in a practical sense and added that they help learn important dates, initiate talks on environmental topics, and with the very fact that they are present in every classroom, they initiate concrete activities on the above-mentioned subjects. The eco-calendars 2007 and the teachers’ manuals were printed in two languages – Macedonian and Albanian and they will be distributed to all primary schools in the Republic f Macedonia.   T.D.
