Association for Democratic Initiatives
Multilingual web-related database – RIVER SEE
The programme team of the Regional Integration through Volunteer Exchange for Reconciliation of Southeast Europe (RIVER SEE) has launched the multilingual web-related database, a web-site dedicated to volunteer exchanges East – East in the Balkan region.
The programme is a unique regional cooperation of UNV/UNDP between the UNV/UNDP offices in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia that is to be co-implemented with partners like EU/EVS, VSO UK, SEEYN, OneWorld SEE and 14 eminent civil society associations, as well as other local associations from seven countries/regions on the Balkans.
In Macedonia, the programme is implemented by the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) from Gostivar and the Council for prevention against juvenile delinquency, and it tends to strengthen the capacity of the civil society associations /volunteer organizations, informal groups or individuals from the communities regarding their managing of the volunteer sector as an essential tool in speeding up the democratic and the economic development and the peace-building process in the region.
The multilingual web-related database RIVER SEE is equipped with a system that can relate the needs of the civil society associations / volunteer organizations to the profile of those individuals / volunteers interested to participate in the East – East volunteer exchanges and enables the use of Albanian, Bosnian, Macedonia and Serbian language.
