27th January: Remembering the holocaust

This day is proclaimed as a day of the European Union dedicated to remembering the victims from the holocaust and to prevention of criminal against mankind. It is a day when we should remind ourselves of the great suffering of Jews and other victims of Nazi ideology and respond against Nazism and other kinds of racism.

 

2nd February: Start of Roma decade

The second day of February is the official date of the start of the Roma decade - process with international character, that has an aim to prompt the integration of Roma people and their equality. The Decade will last until 2015.

…and day of water habitats

2nd February is the international day dedicated to water habitats - one of the most important ecological systems on our planet. Unfortunately they disappear and degrade rapidly, together with the overall living world in them. This day is dedicated to actions and campagns for their protection.
