Youth Leaders Seminar

Greater Initiative Among Young People

From 18 to 25 October this year, at the Youth Centre in Ohrid, a youth leaders seminar took place in the organization of European Council Directorate for Young and Sport and the Republic of Macedonia Agency for Young and Sport.

It was attended by youth leaders of different ethnic origin from thirty NGOs from Macedonia, as well as youth leaders from Spain, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, Holland and Hungary.

The goal of this seminar was to contribute to restructuring of youth NGOs in Macedonia, including the NGO networks, and also to contribute to the general discussion on popular subjects in Macedonia (democracy, youth participation, interethnic dialogue, etc).

Trainer at this seminar was Goran Buldioski, counsellor for informal education from the European Youth Centre at the Young and Sport Directorate in Budapest. According to it, the youth NGOs in Macedonia are going through a period of many initiatives that are not paid much attention to, and it is also necessary to overcome the lack of coordination and knowledge between them.
