Project of the Macedonian Scout Union

The summer was marked by MOBA

For the Macedonian Scout Union, the past summer was marked by the realization of the project MOBA on which they worked at the Scout Centre in Ohrid. MOBA is a project for local development in South-eastern Europe and it covers the territories of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia (including Montenegro and Kosovo). It started in January 2002 and it is supposed to be completed by December 2004. Its goal is to contribute to the development of the region, offering quality programme aimed for the young people and relying on the experience of the national scout organization, which, as civil society organizations act on local level through a wide network of volunteers. MOBA understands realization of young people's needs and desires, organizing workshops on the key issues of the project, organizing training courses for trainers and managers on national and regional level, organizing workshops on Balkan cultures and traditions, on financial support of local projects from young people, preparation of youth programmes and policies, establishing documentary-resource centres and placing a web-site.

Carriers of the project are the European Scout Office, scout organizations involved in the project, "Scouts de France" and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France.
