Association of artists-craftsmen ”Makedonski rakotvorbi” – Bitola Presentation of the Macedonian cultural and traditional values
The Association of Artists – Craftsmen ”Makedonski rakotvorbi” from Bitola, celebrated the first anniversary of its existence last month. In the 12 months of its existence, the association carried out a number of activities, trying to present to the public the rich Macedonian culture and tradition. “The field research, the recruitment of craftsmen and the making of handiworks, as well as their presentation and promotion, organizing schools for transferring the skill – are our goals, our tasks and our reasons for existence”, says Natasa Nikoloska from “Makedonski rakotvorbi”. “Makedonski rakotvorbi” offer a possibility to present a whole treasure of Macedonian handicraft through their work: models of churches and old town architecture, dolls wearing Macedonian folk costumes, knitted socks with folk motives, shirts with Macedonian folk embroidery, carvings, icons, copperplate engraving, oil on canvas, intarsia, painted ceramics with folk motives and mosaics, folk instruments, wooden souvenirs, beads jewelry and other things inspired by the richness of the Macedonian culture and tradition. “Makedonski rakotvorbi” realized several important exhibition, among which was the exhibition on 2 August, organized in cooperation with the “Molika” Hotel; an exhibition in cooperation with Bitola municipality and the University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the town’s liberation; an exhibition in cooperation with the Association of Macedonian Tourist Agencies; an exhibition of handicrafts on the occasion of the Christian holiday Procka, of an auction and sales-donor nature, organized in cooperation with Biota municipality and “St. Kliment Ohridski “ library. The money was given to the children library.
