A campaign STOP! To the violence against children   The First Children Embassy in the World “Medjashi” has started a campaign for stopping the violence against the children in Macedonia, pointing out that the start of the campaign was directly influenced by the incident when two children were beaten to death, as well as the defeating number of calls on the free SOS-line for children and young people 0 800 1 22 22. Last year (2006) the number of calls increased for 18.6% in comparison to the year 2000. The campaign, that lasts for a month, is directed towards raising the awareness for the need of protecting the children from any kind of violence and encouraging the citizens to report the violence. Fifteen billboards were placed in and around the center of Skopje on various locations containing the message “Have you hugged your child tonight?” and STOP! To the violence against children”.
