Regional project

The European Union is not a member of your political party

The Youth Cultural Centre from Bitola as a national coordinator for Macedonia this year will work on the regional project “The European Union is not a member of your political party”. The project started in December last year and treats the problem of political discrimination in the process of citizen employment, i.e. the existence of a system of unequal possibilities at employment, created under the influence of the political parties. It’s conducted in Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania and the protectorate Kosovo as a joint initiative of the South-East Europe Student Net (SEESN), the Balkan Human Rights Net (BHRN) and the South-East Europe Net for Printed Media (SEENPM), with financial support of the programme FRESTA of the Danish Ministry of foreign affairs, and also these civil organizations are included in it: ADP – Zid, Podgorica – Montenegro (bearer of the project); Educational Centre – Krusevac, Serbia; Albanian youth council, Tirana, Albania; ADI – Pristina, Kosovo; ADI – Gostivar, Macedonia.

At the open competition for a caricature under the topic “No party – no job”, winner was the caricaturist Vladimir Kazanevski, and his work was presented during August on an exhibition at the Cultural Centre Tocka in Skopje together with the remaining caricatures that arrived. The Youth Cultural Centre from Bitola organized a protest performance in front of the Employment agency and headquarters of the political parties, launched the web page www.employmentrules.org , promoted the open telephone line for reporting citizen cases connected to discrimination in the employment process, and in September there will also be a promotion of a book with expertise analyses and results from the research of all countries included in the project.
