Life Radio Launched in the Ether

One of the rare bilingual projects being realized in our country is the bilingual Life Radio on the frequencies of STAR FM Radio. The bilingual radio started with the realization of its experimental program on 14 March this year.

The characteristic of this project is that the whole spoken part of the programs is realized in Macedonian and Albanian, changing interactively. The main message of the radio is that we can work together, that we can talk about concrete mutual problems, talk about differences, attitudes etc. The aim of the project is to develop the sense of interethnic tolerance that would help to build peace and reconciliation in the country. The radio treats many issues such as music, film, fashion, cultural and sub-cultural events, economy, social problems, environment, etc. There is also space for different information, reports, national and international NGOs working in the field of tolerance, dialogue and human rights promoting materials, etc. And above all there will be music, endless music. As the project manager, Mr. Kreshnik Ajdini said, classical news have not been planned for the time being, and the radio dissociates itself from dealing with and daily politics or politics in general.

The radio staff consists of 17 people. For all those who want to listen to it, it is located on 89,1 FM.

The project was supported by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCMS), Pax Christy – Holland, Pres Now, Nansen Dialogue Center ad the British Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia, which has awarded a grant.
