Ornithological Reserve "Ezerani"

House for bird observation

Within the project "Infrastructure of the Ezerani Reserve and Lake Prespa, the Macedonian association for studying and protection of birds (MASPB), constructed a small house for bird observation in the protected area of the reserve. The main road that goes through the reserve was repaired and signposts were made from Bitola, Resen and the surrounding places, four entrance gates are placed and one information board at the Infocentre's entrance in the village Asamati. There are also cement collection tubes that redirect the water in the months of spring under the road in order to avoid the neglecting of the main approach through the reserve. The model for the observation house was the same house placed in a reserve in Valencia, Spain.

"There isn't an ornithological reserve in Europe without bird observation house. It is place from where birds can be observed without being disturbed", said Branko Micevski, MASPB president and professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje. With this project, Ezerani grows into a great place for study visits, where visitors can feel the beauty of nature and the animal life. The project is supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Macedonia.
