Pelister and Radika - this year's priorities
The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning is considering the protection of Radika and Pelister to be its priorities, and they also announced the continuation of the project for protection of Prespa that will cost approximately 705,000 euros from the Global Environmental Fund. In 2003, the Ministry completed the realization of the project for eliminating the consequences from the six-valence chrome in Jegunovce by redirecting the waters from the stream Muzga.
New from the Communal Hygiene
Organized collection of the medical waste
The Communal Hygiene has started the process of organized collection of the medical waste from the private organizations, and since the beginning of the year about fifteen private medical offices and pharmacies have started using its services. The communal teams are collecting, transporting and burning the medical waste at Drisla. For a kilogram of collected waste, the private companies pay 385 denars. The users of this service get safety medical boxes where they can store waste of up to five kilograms. They are produced and emptied by Communal Hygiene by using special vehicles. 
EKO-NET
Call for partnership
The Centre for Electronic Communication, EKO-NET sent an appeal for partnership to all civil society associations in the country working in the field of protection and promotion of the environment. The associations should contribute with information regarding this area, that will be transferred to the EKO-NET web-portal, initiate forum discussions, project ideas and so on and submit periodical reports.
