Municipality of Kocani Town’s Newsletter
Kocani resumes the publication of its town’s newsletter where they publish information concerning the events in the town and the activities that are taking place. In this number you can find the text about the activity of a group of citizens from the local community Rade Koncar” for revitalizing “Bavcaluk”, “A Song for the Bavcaluk Pump” by Venceslav Stojanovski (poetry), about the preparations for building air-pollution measurement station in Kocani, as well as about the cultural manifestation “Days of Rice in Kocani”. The town’s newsletter was published with the support from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, The Agency for Young and Sports and UNDP.

“Learn Your Rights”…
The UNICEF office in our country has published the leaflet “Learn Your Rights”. The leaflet offers explanation of the Children Rights Convention, which was ratified in the Republic of Macedonia in 1993 as well as the 24 most important children rights from the Convention. “Children have the right to know their rights”- says article 42.

“Living Together”
The Kaspar Hauser library has published its first book “Living Together”, subtitled “Experience from Other Countries”, by Marko Martinello”. The book presents experiences from many countries in the world which have in common the situation of mutual living of people from different nationalities.

“Vilo”
The young Romas have finally witnessed the publication of the first Roma language magazine, called “Vilo”(Heart). The magazine is published and financed by the Roma International Center. The future readers of “Vilo” can read about the International Roma Folk Hit 2002, Britney Spears fans about her carrier, texts in the field of astrology, some pages in the magazine are for those who want to learn English, there is also a presentation of the Roma poet Iljaz Shaban, there is some beauty advice for the young Roma girls, entertainment, psycho-tests, horoscope, as well as a calendar for the year 2002.

The Republic of Macedonia Local Self-government Units’ Association (LSUA) has published the latest issue of “Newsletter” which offers a number of texts, among which is the Local Self-government Law, The First Municipality Fair in Macedonia, the LSUA and LSFWA (The Local Self-government Financial Workers’ Association) representatives visit to the USA, the Macedonian Mayors’ visit to Bavaria-Germany, information concerning the Cities and Regions Forum in Istanbul, the seminar for the Macedonian National Association of Local Self-government Units, The National Seminar for trans-border cooperation for local and regional representatives, etc. The newsletter is financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

Advice for Women with Breast Cancer
The Association for fight against malignant diseases “New Life” from Stip has prepared several leaflets for women with breast cancer. In all seven leaflets there is an explanation how to act from the very moment of the disease’s discovery, as well as councils for post-operational treatment. Here are some of the leaflets titles: “You have found out the diagnosis” (Hospital treatment), “Practical councils”- (Post-operational breast cancer treatment), “Return to a new life” –(You and your surrounding), “Radiotherapy – radiation as part of the cancer treatment”, Breasts self-control”, etc. All the Association leaflets are financed by the Open Society Institute Macedonia Foundation.

Presenting the towns and their beauties, cultural-historic monuments, as well as other information for foreigners visiting our country, are rare indeed. In the brochure “Ohrid, a Piece of Heavens Beauty” by EA Jagoda, there are number of photographs and information presenting Macedonia, Ohrid and its lake, the National Park “Galicica”, a cultural monuments’ map, the craftsmanship in this old town, the national food, the festivals, museums, galleries, accommodation, as well as many other important information.
