Mama has turned down USAID support
During the USA military intervention against Iraq, the Multimedia Institute decided to revoke the contract by which the USA Government had granted them $100.000, aimed at the development of the civic society sector in Croatia. Towards the end of 2002, the Multimedia Institute got financial support for two years amounting to $100.000 through the Program for development of the civic society sector of Croatia, implemented by the Academy for Educational Development (AED). Through this program, the financier chose 10 NGOs which he thought to be convenient for providing sustainability of the Croatian NGOs and the civic society, thus democracy development.
Reacting critically against the context of economic globalization, the participants are making efforts to create necessary conditions for political and social globalization. Since the Multimedia Institute considers itself to be a part of this global public, with this move it does not present the attitudes defined in a national context, but reacts against the war in Iraq in a way determined by the new global order and opposes the political globalization.
