Center for musical therapy in Skopje
“Dzundzule” for the children with special needs
The children with special needs from Skopje got themselves a new Centre for children artistic expression, musical therapy and psychophysical relaxation called “Dzundzule”, located at the Children cultural centre Kaprosh.
The center was opened on 4 November. Its patron is the City of Skopje, it is the one of its kind on the Balkans and it is the member of the World Federation for Musical Therapy, headquartered at Berkley, USA. It was open on the initiative of 250 parent signatures sent to the members of Parliament. Now, the parents visit the center and the children enjoy themselves for two hours, drawing, playing some musical instrument, socializing with each other. In that, they are assisted by the expert associates at “Dzundzule”, who engage themselves unselfishly in working with the children and help them overcome the everyday problems more easily, without feeling marginalized. Children aged 3 to 18 come to the center, and the parents who have children with special needs now have the opportunity to get involved in the specially designed programme that the Association is going to use. Thus, they can enable their children communicate with each other and integrate themselves more easily in the society.
