Four new publications promoted

On 21 January this year at the “Continental Hotel” in Skopje, The First Children Embassy in the World “Medjashi” promoted four new publications, which came as a result of the activities Macedonian Civic Platform activities, that is as part of the project called “Support to the national civic forum/platform”. The publications “Guide for applying the Law on donations and sponsorships in the public actions? and other tax laws”, “Annual bulletin of the Macedonian Civic Platform”, “Positive examples of the civil society in Macedonia” were presented by Dragi Zmijanac, executive director of The First Children Embassy in the World “Medjashi”, Saso Klekovski, executive director of the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation and Goran Velickovski, editor-in-chief of “Positive examples of the civil society in Macedonia”.

Regarding the “Guide for applying the Law on donations and sponsorships”, Dragi Zmijanac emphasized the role of the Government in terms of motivating and stimulating the socially accountable business, which, assisted by the civil sector, they managed to pass a law on donations and sponsorships successfully. The Guide’s function is to introduce the civil society organizations, as well as the companies that make profit to the procedure for making donor agreement, thus accomplishing their social mission in the society.

At the promotion, they pointed out that 29 civil society organizations – members of the Macedonian Civil Platform took part in the preparation of its “Annual bulletin” and that it has been financed by the European Agency for Reconstruction”. In the guides called “Positive examples of the civil society in Macedonia 1 and 2”, the emphasis is placed on the civil society that through their work and realization of their own mission and function in the society, give positive example on the way, the organization and the functioning of the civil sector in Macedonia. The guides also include the successful stories of about thirty civil society organizations.
