The Global Village at “Makedonija” Square
Trip around the world in a day
The manifestation ‘Global Village” took place on 18 February at “Makedonija”Square in Skopje. It was organized by the international platform AIESEC, which offered great entertainment to the Macedonian public. There were 250 participants from 104 member-countries. The event, which was held this year under the motto “Trip around the world in a day”, was attended by over 10 000 people. The participants from Senegal, Togo, Spain, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, America, Venezuela, Moldova and many other countries, presented their culture, tradition, national dances and music, their food and drinks characteristic for the countries they come from. The organizers offered an interactive programme with musical presentations of the countries, acrobatic attractions, etc. The mood was held high by our famous performers Adrian Gadja, Jovan Jovanov, Elvir Mekikj, Bobi Simonovsk and Deana Nikolovska.
“Global Village” was part of the international congress of presidents, which took place in this country for the first time from 15 to 27 February in Skopje and Ohrid. The Congress is considered to be the most important global event of the international youth network AIESEC and it was an exceptional opportunity for promoting the capacities of the young population, the tradition and the qualities of Macedonia in front of over 250 young leaders – participants in the Congress and ambassadors of their countries.
