"Eko-svest" with a video lexicon
Eco-terminology Available to All
The civic organization Eko-svest (Eco-Awareness) have started implementing their project "Eco-lexicon", that is broadcasted on the National television every second Wednesday in "Dzvon" (Ring), and reprised again in the afternoon.
The "Eko svest" (www.ekosvest.com.mk) idea came as a result of understanding the need for a specific vocabulary when speaking about the "environment/ecology." There are many such terms in the everyday vocabulary that require more detailed explanation, acceptable for every citizen, especially for the young population, among which this subject should be popularized most. The television, as a medium, is easily available and the explanation of the terms and problems in that field on such a medium in a very simple way, through video and audio version of an eco-dictionary, will be interesting, since it covers issues in the field of selecting the waste, composting, ozone hole, glasshouse effect, air-pollution, climate, etc. Thus, the Eko-svest, wants to clarify the idea of the given problems and contribute to raise the awareness within the target group.
The Eko-svest has the approval of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning to make official presentations of the Ministry's activities and the news related to it, thus becoming kind of spokesman for the Ministry.
