Active civic movement and participative cultural policy
In the month of February, the Center for Performing Arts “Multimedia” realized the third workshop as part of its project called “Local cultural policies in the Republic of Macedonia – strategies for cultural development”, as well as the regional debate on “Women and the use of information-communication technology”.
The main goal of the project is to define an efficient system of mechanisms in the field of culture that would lead towards systematic cultural development of the municipalities. The project includes the municipalities of Probistip, Strumica, Negotino, Debar and Resen. The third workshop on “active civic movement and participative cultural policy” that took place from 18 to 20 February this year in Negotino, was designed for the local administration representatives that are active in the field of culture and the representatives of the local cultural institutions and the local civil society organizations.
The regional debate on “Women and the use of information-communication technology (ICT)”, took place on 22 February at the cultural center “Tocka”. Recognizing the need for acquiring knew knowledge and developing the skills for using the technology as a challenge for the women population in the information society. “Multimedia” organized the workshop in order to get an insight in the current conditions in this field in our region.
Gjurgja Knezevikj, a publicist, made a statement on the challenges that women in Croatia face regarding the equal access to ICT. According to her, there are two important things that need to be considered when it comes to the women in Croatia and the use of ICT. First, it is the political will of the government representatives for real and not just declarative gender equality, and the second thing is the mass education within the society on ICT. Jordanka Petrusevska, a web-administrator and a trainer and Ivana Dragsikj, new media artist took part in the debate.
