Five companies awarded

Oscars for the socially responsible companies

The companies from Skopje, “Tinex”, “Farmahem” and “Rade Koncar Service”, as well as “Renova” from Tetovo and “Bircart Logistic” from Stip are the winners of this year’s selection of the project called “Social responsibility of the companies”, implemented by the German agency “Inwent”. Seventy-five companies applied for two categories at the competition open call for awarding the “Macedonian Oscar for socially responsible companies”: small and medium size companies and big companies. Fifteen of them, which received the highest score, entered the final circle. The selection was made on the basis of the projects they implemented in the sense of realizing the concept of corporative responsibility. This project is implemented in all countries in the southeast Europe.

The director of “Tinex” supermarkets, Vladimir Todorovikj, won the Oscar for best corporative social responsibility of a big company for the project for employing children without parents from the orphanage “11 Oktomvri”. He said that their project for providing employment has been going on for three years and so far they have employed 25 children who fitted perfectly in the work.

The Government announced maximum support of the corporative social responsibility, its implementation and introduction in the Law for trade associations as companies’ duty.

The Vive-Minister of Economy, Kiro Spacev, said at the awarding ceremony that the Government has designed an investment programme, placing the corporative social responsibility a top priority. “We will work in a direction of giving benefits to the companies that implement the social responsibility”, Spacev says.

The participants at the Oscar-awarding ceremony said that the project’s goal is to raise the awareness of the companies and to develop a national strategy. They also emphasized the need to set up a coordinative body that would strive for providing better working climate in the companies.
