Violeta Eftimova

Life is a moment, therefore use it for beautiful things

Professional experience: Professional teacher at DSMU "Jane Sandanski" - Stip

Engagement in the civic sector: I have been involved in the civil sector since 1999, more actively since 2000 when we established the Association for fight against malignant diseases "Nov zivot" in Stip and a new life started for me then. At the moment, I am its president.

Ambitions: Opening a chemotherapy ward in Stip and improving the life and the status of people with cancer.

Hobbies and interests: Planting and growing flowers which I like so much, listening to good music, reading, walking and travelling.

In her free time she reads: Since I am fully dedicated to the promotion of the association's work, I mainly read professional literature related to the latest advancements in the fight against cancer, which I get from a friend in America who does research for finding cure against the cancer.

At weekends: I try to finish the remaining chores at home which I was not able to finish during the week. The rest of the weekend is dedicated to my family and friends.

Toughest decision: After I discovered the disease, the most difficult thing for me was choosing the right path to continue my life, because after the disease, life is not the same as it used to be. I think I made the right decision - life goes on and I have an inexhaustible energy to handle with all the problems it brings.

Which national (local) problem does she find especially important and why: Consolidation of our country. Reduction of the number of unemployed people. Young people to find their way.

Which global problem does she find especially important and why: The frequent conflicts on ethnic grounds, terrorism and especially the lack of care for the hungry.

What would she change in Macedonia and the world: I would like to see more love and understanding between the people and see them help each other. I would like Macedonia to be richer and developed country, and a member of EU.

Advice (message): Life is a moment, therefore use it for beautiful things. Enjoy life and let others enjoy, too.
